St. George's Church, founded in 1859, is in the English Cemetery on Avda. de Pries. The church has held regular services since the mid 1800's. This cemetery was founded in 1830 because non-Roman Catholics were not allowed to be buried in holy ground and were buried standing upright along the beach. On Sundays Holy Eucharist is at 11:00 (July / August 10:00). The cemetery has been experiencing financial hardship for the last few years. Visit their website or call and ask how you can help preserve this important landmark. The Gatehouse gift shop is open: tue - sat 10:30 - 14:30
