Audiologists

People experiencing hearing loss complain of difficulty distinguishing conversations, especially when there is background noise. At times they are plagued by Tinnitus; a hissing, roaring, or ringing in the ears. They may find themselves listening to the radio or television at volume levels way above normal and may experience dizziness, equilibrium disorientation or fatigue. A simple trip to an audiologist can turn the tables!

An audiologist will perform tests to identify the type and degree of hearing loss and will determine which hearing aid will best suit you.

A hearing aid is an electronic, battery-operated device that receives sound through a microphone. It converts sound waves into electrical signals that are amplified then sends them to the ear through a speaker. Before purchasing any hearing aid, ask whether it has a warranty that will allow you to try it out. Most manufacturers allow a 30 to 60 day trial period during which aids can be returned for a refund.
